AQT 179
BIOCIDE – Broad-spectrum oxidizing biocide
Recommended use: AQT 179 is a broad-spectrum oxidizing biocide for use in systems where bacteria and biofilm are expected to be present. It provides microorganism control and clean systems.
Restriction on use: Not for food, drug or household use.
Features: Rapid kill of algae and other microorganisms, Low toxicity.
Dosage and control: Normal dose rate: 20 – 60 ppm continuous dosing in circulating water depending on degree of fouling. Normally used at 40 ppm. Free chlorine levels should be kept at 0,2 to 0,5 ppm. May be shock dosed at 60 – 80 ppm in system, but under
these conditions biodispersant dosing is recommended.
NOTE: It is recommended that chlorine demand tests be done on the water to be treated to ensure that the product is available as a biocide and is not just oxidizing reducing agents.
Handling: Do not mix with other chemicals. Prevent contact with eyes.
Compatible materials: Stainless steel, Polyethylene, Polypropylene.
Incompatible materials: Mild steel.
Storage: Keep this product in original closed container in cool area away from heat.

- DO NOT smoke, eat or drink anything when working with this product or before safety clothes are removed and hands and arms are properly washed.
- Contact on skin – wash thoroughly with soap and water.
- Contact with eyes – flush with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately
- Ingestion – drink plenty of water and obtain medical attention. DO NOT induce vomiting.
