DESCALER – Specially formulated product suitable for cleaning RO membranes
Recommended use: AQT 773 is a specially formulated product suitable for cleaning RO membranes and other surfaces. It is used specifically for removing calcium sulphate from membranes and other surfaces. It will also remove some other deposits and foulants, but it is not cost effective for these in the absence of calcium sulphate.
Restriction on use: Not for food, drug or household use.
Features: Works effectively at normal ambient temperatures. Suitable for use on many other surfaces such as mild steel and stainless steel.
Dosage and control: Applied at about 2 % concentration dissolved in permeate for RO and NF membrane cleaning. It is circulated through the membrane at low pressure using the CIP tank and other equipment supplied for chemical cleaning. Circulation time can be from 15 min to 2 hours depending on the degree of scaling in the membrane. Cleaning is complete when there is no further decrease in active material concentration in the circulating solution. Should the active in the product be spent then another 2% may be added. Rinsing with good quality permeate or fresh water is recommended. A titration kit is available for measuring the active content of the cleaning solution. NOTE: If the solution is to be discharged to drain it is recommended that the pH of the solution be adjusted to about 7. Waste from the cleaning process should not be returned to the feed water to the RO system.
Handling: Do not mix with other chemicals. Prevent contact with eyes.
Incompatible materials: Corrosive to stainless steel, zinc, and aluminium.
Storage: Keep this product in original closed container in cool area away from heat.

- Contact on skin – wash thoroughly with soap and water.
- Contact with eyes – flush with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately
- Ingestion – drink plenty of water and obtain medical attention. DO NOT induce vomiting.
